Read Across America

Read Across America is a nationwide reading initiative launched by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1998. Celebrated each year on March 2nd—Dr. Seuss’s birthday—and throughout National Reading Month, it encourages children and teens to enjoy reading.

Key Goals:

• Make reading fun and engaging.

• Promote diverse books and voices.

• Foster a lifelong love of reading.

• Provide resources for educators and families.

The program features events, activities, and year-round resources led by schools, libraries, and community partners across the country.
