Bennett-Kew School Community Embraces Social-Emotional Learning Through Beautification Project
Bennett-Kew Elementary is proud to highlight a recent initiative led by School Board Member Brandon G. Myers and dedicated parents, who joined forces with teachers and students to enhance the school environment. This collaborative effort not only beautified our campus but also served as a hands-on way to promote Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) among our students.

Through this project, children learned the value of teamwork, responsibility, and community pride, while teachers guided discussions on empathy, cooperation, and goal-setting—key components of SEL. The initiative created a welcoming and inspiring space where students can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
Board Member Brandon Mayers remarked, “This is a wonderful example of how community, parents, and school staff can work together to make a tangible difference in our children’s learning environment and social development.”

The Bennett-Kew community continues to demonstrate its commitment to fostering positive relationships, personal growth, and responsible citizenship, showing that SEL is in the classroom, school, work, and life.
