(SSC) School Site Council Parent Meeting

The School Site Council (SSC) is a committee made up of parents, teachers, school staff, and the principal who work together to improve student achievement and ensure school resources support the needs of all students.
What does SSC do?
1. Student Achievement: Reviews academic performance, attendance, and student needs.
2. School Funding: Helps develop, review, and approve the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), including the use of Title I funds.
3. Parent Representation: Gives parents a voice in school improvement decisions.
4. School Improvement: Identifies priorities for academic support, school climate, and student success.
5. Accountability: Monitors school goals and evaluates whether programs and resources are making a difference.

IUSD parent Maritza Alvarez also joins special education leaders Ms. Giorgia Diomedes and Mr. Irvin Shannon for an honest discussion about the IEP process, what families can expect this year, and how schools and families can work together so every IUSD student can thrive.

Community members are invited to attend our School Board Candidate Forums.

Student Board Member Patrick Cruse and student leaders will host candidate forums for each Trustee Area.

Students will have the opportunity to hear candidates’ visions, ask student-centered questions, and discuss issues important to students and the school community.

Former Los Angeles Laker and UCLA graduate Russell Westbrook surprised students at the Iovine and Young Center with an exciting announcement about the Howard H. White Leadership Academy, which will provide 30 students with opportunities to develop leadership and entrepreneurship skills

Inglewood Unified School District proudly recognizes Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. We join our community in raising awareness, encouraging early detection, honoring survivors, and supporting those impacted by breast cancer.
